Richardson’s 2450MHz microwave generator systems are designed for use with industrial process equipment requiring a high-performance yet economical source of microwave power. Consisting of separate magnetron heads and switch mode power supply modules, this system is easily integrated into production equipment with minimal design effort. All control functionality is provided remotely by the user via analog and/or digital interfaces, while local controls are also available.
 
Optional internal circuits provide for monitoring and displaying forward and reverse microwave power
signals from external waveguide bi-directional power meters, such as WR340-WBPM (available separately). Each generator system includes a complete set of interconnect cabling between the two modules for convenient setup and operation.
 
The magnetron head's serviceability and reliability were primary considerations in its design. Removal and replacement of the magnetron can be done easily using standard tools. Multiple interlock devices protect against exposure to high-power microwave energy and hazardous voltages. The power supply module combines state-of-the-art inverter technology with advanced microprocessor controls to provide high performance in a compact and lightweight package. The complete system includes mating connectors and a standardized 10 ft. cable set for connecting between the magnetron head and power supply (other lengths may be specified by the customer).
